Most of what weighs on people never reaches a clinic. It is the ordinary, unglamorous heaviness of being a person — and it still deserves somewhere to go.
What Neeli is
A conversation, not a consultation
A fight you cannot stop replaying. A job that is eating you. A house that is too quiet. A night that will not end. That kind of weight usually needs one specific thing first — to be said out loud to someone who will not interrupt, will not compare it to their own story, and will not tell you what you should have done differently.
Neeli is built for exactly that moment. You open the app, see who is available, and start talking. The person on the other side is there to listen properly: to let you finish your sentences, to ask the question that helps you keep going, and to stay with you for as long as the call lasts.
They will not diagnose you. They will not prescribe anything. They will not pretend to be a doctor. What they will do is take you seriously, which is often the part that has been missing.
Neeli is deliberately shallow as a product. The distance between deciding to talk and actually talking is where most people give up, so we made that distance as short as we could: four steps, about ninety seconds.
Calls are never recorded
We store who spoke, when and for how long. We do not keep the conversation itself, and recording a call is prohibited for both sides.
Listeners are verified
Every listener completes an identity check and training before they can take a single call, and stays bound by our Community Guidelines.
You stay anonymous
A nickname is enough. You never have to share your number, your address or your social profiles — and listeners may not ask for them.
Available at 3 a.m.
The hardest hours are rarely office hours. Neeli exists so there is someone awake when the rest of your world is asleep.
Not random chat
You choose who you talk to
Neeli is not a random-pairing or anonymous chat service. You are never dropped into a call with whoever happens to be next in a queue.
Every listener on Neeli has applied, completed identity and age verification, and been trained on our conduct rules before their profile ever appears. You browse the listeners who are online, read their bio, check the languages they speak, and choose one. If the fit is wrong, you pick someone else.
That difference matters. A verified, chosen, one-to-one conversation with a trained listener is a different product from a roulette of strangers, and the whole design of Neeli — verification, profiles, reporting, enforcement — exists to keep it that way. We would rather be clear now than be misunderstood later, especially about something this important.
Neeli is not therapy, counselling or medical care. Neeli is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Listeners on Neeli are trained to listen — they are not licensed mental health professionals, and using Neeli does not create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship.

The name
Why Neeli
Neeli means blue. It is the colour of the mood nobody wants to name out loud, and of the calm on the other side of it. We wanted a name that did not flinch from the first meaning while pointing at the second.
Neeli is built for India, in the languages people actually think in. The heaviness of a hostel room in a new city, of family expectation, of a result that did not come — these are specific, and they are easier to describe to someone who does not need them translated first.
